ADVANCES IN CANCER TREATMENT: THE CHABNER SYMPOSIUM |
Message from the Executive Editor
Martin J. Murphy, Jr., Executive Editor
The Oncologist
It is an honor for The Oncologist to reproduce the Proceedings from The Chabner Symposium, which was held at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), April 7, 1995. This gathering honored Dr. Bruce A. Chabners leadership and legacy in the field of clinical cancer research, drug discovery and development during his more than quarter century at the NCI. Many of Dr. Chabners former students and one mentor were joined by his associates and friends from around the world to pay tribute as he retired from the NCI and took up his new responsibilities as Chief of Hematology/Oncology and Clinical Director of Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
Although most are clinical in nature, some articles may be biographical, or derive from the research bench. Originally published in the January 1996 issue of STEM CELLS, these papers deserve the wide, international clinical audience which The Oncologist affords.
