SUMMARY: This study assesses the prevalence of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 status testing among newly diagnosed breast cancer patients and describes the subsequent treatment patterns of these individuals to evaluate the degree of physician adherence to the 2001 recommendation for routine testing and the frequency of trastuzumab use.
