Selma R. Schimmel
Ms. Schimmel is President and Chief Executive Officer of Vital Options® International TeleSupport® Cancer Network, an international not-for-profit cancer communications, support, and advocacy organization she founded in 1983 after being diagnosed with breast cancer at age 28. Ms. Schimmel works tirelessly to bring cancer awareness and support to patients, caregivers, physicians, and the general public. She hosts The Group Room®, a weekly, nationally syndicated call-in radio cancer talk show that facilitates an active dialogue and exchange of information between patients and physicians. Ms. Schimmel is the author of Cancer Talk, a book that grew out of conversations from The Group Room.
